The Practice of Personal Writing

Spring 2021
Tuesday, April 6—May 11, 4-6 pm
Live but Virtual

“Mining your memories for meaning” in both poetry and prose is the theme of this six-week creative writing workshop for women. Classes provide guidance in the art and craft of personal writing in both poetry and prose, including generative prompts, opportunities for writing and sharing with others, including small breakout groups for giving and receiving constructive feedback on poems and prose. Led by Pauletta Hansel and Elaine Olund.

Six Sessions: $125 Payable to Pauletta Hansel; contact me for payment options.

Offered live using Zoom.

This class is for women only. From Draft to Craft Poetry Workshop is offered to women and men.

The Practice of Personal Writing workshop series for women only grows out of Pauletta Hansel’s The Practice of Poetry workshop series, based on her belief that much of what makes good poetry goes hand-in-hand with good spiritual practices: paying attention to the interaction of our inner lives and the outer world, making time for reflection, nurturing a supportive community of fellow practitioners and committing to an honest assessment of what to keep and what to let go.
