On April 15, 2016, Pauletta Hansel became Cincinnati’s first Poet Laureate. She served a two year term, through March 2018 promoting poetry appreciation, encouraging the reading and writing of poetry throughout the city as well as composing and reading poems for special events and occasions. The current Poet Laureate is Manuel Iris.
